Hitting close to home. My wife has had two such stumbles in the last year. She tries to joke about it ala Janis but I feel they have shaken her confidence.
A few years ago, when retrieving my garbage can, I tripped on the curb, and ended up on my own can. Due to trick knees (yes both of them) I can’t get up unaided. Next door there was a nice young muscular man working in the yard. So I just sat there, and mustered up the loudest “HELP” I could manage. I no longer go anywhere without my cell phone in my pocket.
I was pulling on a real heavy grape vine that was admittedly dead and hanging from one of our oak trees. Usually I can pull them and they zipper right up the tree and break off when they get very small. No, this one started to pull then broke of about 5 feet from where I was pulling. I hit the ground about like Janis. I didn’t hear any neighbors laughing but you never know who saw it.
For me it was a spadeful of soil I was trying hard to cut into the hardpack clay soil to plant a tree and suddenly I was sitting across the hole (at least not in it!) facing the opposite direction and coming to with no idea how I’d gotten down there facing that way. Not my first concussion, so… yeah.

Gravity doesn’t care about your weight down there.

Gravity and Janis have a horrible relationship.
It’s always trying to keep her down.

Women are the only creatures to defy the laws of gravity.
The heavier they are, the easier they are to pick up

I used to climb an 8 foot ladder and paint ceilings when I was renovating myMothers house, now I get shaky on a step ladder.

She wants Arlo to kiss it and make it better!

Is it me, or has Janice recently gotten a bit… dumpy?

When you’re young, you just grab the big weed and yank. As you age, you get smarter and you dig around the root a bit first.

Janis should have seen that coming! ;o)

You’re not paranoid if the world IS out to get you.

I fell off a 4 foot mini stepladder in 2017 and broke my back!! I was in a back brace for 3 months. It was so hot & uncomfortable.

Arlo ask her to show you where it hurts, then you can both decide how to make it feel better.

At least there wasn’t a rock there. That really could have hurt.

The body gets weaker and aches more often and can bruise more easily. She should have used a flat shovel not pulling like that. Fulcrum is better.

Where is the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth shattering kaboom.

She landed better than I did. I smacked my butt then fell flat on my back pulling up a weed. In my defense, there was a round stick under my foot.

I bought a ladder stabilizer on Amazon open box for $30 for my extension ladder.
