At least he goes back for it. There’s far too many people refusing to wear a mask altogether, or wearing one to get past the employee monitoring the entrance and then pulling it down into a chin strap.

A few years ago, I got into the habit of only using the remote to unlock the door when I get back to the car. There was a report of these frequency-scanning devices that thieves were using to get peoples’ remote codes. The scanners mentioned in this report could hold up to five codes. For example, they’re sitting in a nearby vehicle watching people walk away from their vehicle and using the remote to lock the doors. These machines would scan the frequency, and they’d use it to get into the person’s car or truck to ransack the interior looking for something to steal. When the shopper returned to their vehicle, they’d find the driver’s side door wide open and all of their valuables gone. Before getting out of my car or truck, I’ll just put my keys in my pocket, open the door and use the button inside the door to lock it up before I go in anywhere. This report had one lady telling the cops she couldn’t understand when she walked away from her car and locked the doors remotely; then heard the doors unlock and her alarm give the sound that it was unlocked. She kept hitting the ‘lock’ button on her remote until it finally stopped unlocking, and went to get her groceries. When she came out her front doors were both open and her stereo was gone. :-(

So easy to forget the mask. At Target they gave me a mask! Nice not to have to run back to my car!

Its becoming automatic to put on the mask when I get out of the car just like putting on the seat belt when I get in

I’ve gotten home from work and almost put it on to go in my own house

Wallet, shopping bags, mask, the only thing I don’t routinely forget is the car keys.

If you choose to wear one, for goodness sakes NEVER where it in the parking lot. If you are infected (the only time a mask can do any good) then any virus particles in the droplets or sneezes you spew are collected in the mask for later dispersal (after the water evaporates from being breath on and absorbed in the mask fibers) – So leave the mask OFF when outdoors = all you’re doing if collecting virus particles and carrying them into the store with you.

And all of the “studies” and real, peer reviewed research for decades prior to the 2nd quarter of this year show that mask wearing my the general public is ineffective and probably does more overall harm than good.

    1. The face mask key to the joke here. 2. With so many comic strips in reruns, the masks are a way to show that a strip is OC (original content).

So looking at the comments, what the artist intended to be an empathetic comment on what we are or should all be going through, has become a display of how ignorant and insensitive we can be as a species.

Folks, it’s as simple as this.

If you are not exposed to the virus, you won’t contract it, and you won’t expose it to others.

If you don’t contract it, you won’t get sick.

If you don’t get sick, you won’t die.

Therefore, do everything you can to prevent yourself and others from being exposed to the virus.

So far we’ve done very little and we’ve already run out of ideas?

Since I have an auto-immune condition, I have to keep a mask on at all times when I’m outside even if it’s to take out the trash, to check my mailbox, or to get into my car. The whole situation sucks, but I’d much rather deal with a face mask than with a ventilator.

This happens to me all the time – and also to many other shoppers I see walking in and back of the parking lot. When this pandemic thing is over, I’m going to feel downright naked without my mask.

All these remarks about masks on cartoon characters instead of reflecting on what I have done several times now: get out of my car to go shopping, see someone with a mask on, and go back to my car for my mask.

Always keep a mask in your back pocket, one made of cotton, so it won’t get ruined when you wash your jeans (if you don’t check your pockets). I thought today’s offering was amusing and pithy.

It’s part of the joke! That doh! feeling you feel when you’re halfway to a store and you forgot your mask! (also it’s about protecting others, not oneself)

Why not just ban masks, hug each other, and end this madness? The plants and animals would be glad to see us gone.

It gets cold enough up here from the late fall to early spring to require a scarf or muffler any way. I have found that a mask with or without a filter is not an encumbrance. I do a fair amount of cycling and found a neck fleece to be a welcome addition this past summer. Wearing a mask in the knowledge that it protects me from them and them from me is little cost in this time of COVID.

We go out very rarely. Trip for Chinese food Saturday night and once a month to month and a half for food – very late night trip Sunday night to send outgoing mail, and occasional trips also very late night to or from car mechanic.

Our masks are hanging from a hook on the fridge near the magnetic pockets with our wallet, keys, etc. and the bags we put the masks in when we come back in are there also. When we are going to make a trip out I put together a plastic shopping bag of items to go out and hang it on the door knob so I know we will have everything (do this in normal times also, more needed now – we are in our 60s and our brains are getting a bit soft, especially stay in all the time now). When we come back in the closed plastic zipper bag is tossed down the basement stairs to be washed (we have 2 sets and I am suppose to make more – he found new patterns that he thinks might fit him better).
