I once read that the water companies know when the commercial breaks are, even if they don’t have a TV. There is a marked increase in water use as folks dash to the loo.
I give games a 30 minute head start with Tivo, and do not answer the phone to avoid spoilers. Skip not just commercials but also the idiot talking heads and interminable play reviews
I used to wonder why American documentaries repeated the same facts over and over and over again. Then I was told how many commercials there were and how long they took and that by the end of them the people needed to be reminded what the documentary was about. That’s when I stopped whining about our ‘overlong and too numerous’ commercials.
Amazing… they just ran The Grinch the other night with the heading that the show had been “edited for time allotment” WTF? They needed to add more commercials into the half-hour, so they trimmed the show! idjits….

No recorder? If I want something to eat I just hit pause. Of course, that’s not funny. This is.

If you stay away from sporting events, you sometimes get five or six minute commercial breaks.

I must watch different shows. The commercial breaks in my shows are long enough for us to eat leisurely a full-course meal.

We stopped TV service a year and a half ago to save money (imagine saying that in the ‘60s!) and haven’t missed it since.

I sometimes miss those days of rushing back and forth during commercials.

I won’t watch movies with commercials, even if I can speed through them. They still disrupt the emotional flow of a movie.
