I’m pretty sick of it too. Can’t wait until the fair, there’s always a cold snap during the fair. Of course that’s not until October . . .

Ain’t it the truth. Midwestern “(now politically incorrect phrase inserted here)-summer.” Land of the proud Illini, Iriquois, Sioux nation.

Sorry, but I believe the “zapper” is the rising sun peeking through the sparse foliage nearer the hedge’s base

Haven’t needed the AC for weeks. Had a nice clear day last week so I thought it’d be good to get it dressed for the winter. Because there is a God, who has a sense of humor, the 90’s immediately returned. She-who-must-be-obeyed never complained but, boy, you could see it in her eyes.

Uh-oh…well, the harvesting hasn’t started here, just yet, so we get a lil more time before that plague attacks.

At least this morning Arlo is occupied and doing something instead of waking Janis up.

So true. It was 103 degrees in Chattanooga, TN last Friday. We tied a record from 1927.

The only time I’ve had a relaxed sunrise view was when I was in Maui and a couple of time zones over. I couldn’t sleep in anyway. Problem was, I was on a sandy west beach. You can’t have everything.

All summer around here. September is when it starts raining daily and your entire garden rots.

A fast sun rise, the nights are still short, but less so. And the heat is still on.

The local paper announced lows in the 50s for a couple nights. The article said meteorologists have a name for this phenomenon: Normal. Heh heh. Looking forward to a couple days of so-called normal temps.

The tree line is more than slightly different in each panel – as is the roof line, for that matter – and the pov shifts in the last panel, so there’s no way to infer the sun’s angle of ascension. When we lived in Lake Charles, LA, we were amazed at having to fight off mosquitoes to decorate our (unscreened) front porch holiday tree in December, and that was just before Calvin & Hobbes announced global warming.
