Hugs still work with chicken wing arms.
A reassuring hug cures many ills. <3

Why I like A&J.
I miss a whole lot about my late hubby, but high on the list is hugs.
I have no hugs. I have no love. One of my last friends has been rude and mean to me and doesn’t even realize how she hurt me. She’s ex-friend I mean. Can I give up? There’s no place for me…
See!?! We men ARE good for something…sometimes…now and then.

Well, I’m glad that’s over. Those downers can be contagious.
You know, in a medium dominated by insufferable kids, idiot doormat parents, smirking doomstruck boomers hanging out in Ohio pizza joints, political ideologues of every stripe and general nastiness, A&J is an incredibly refreshing comic oasis…the gentleness, truthfulness and, for lack of a better word, “humanity” of this strip astonish this mean old dude sometimes. Yes, Janis is very often a goose, and god knows I could never live with her, but A&J is the best strip out there. Mr. Johnson, kudos and please keep up the good work!

Thank you for perfectly drawing my life. <3
My dad’s 93rd birthday is in two days. If he makes it. It is far from a sure thing. This comic today was exactly what I needed. I cannot thank you enough.
