    But mostly he just thinks you are in dire need of hunting lessons, so he has brought you something to start practicing on.

    We always thanked our cats and praised them for bringing offerings. Not easy to be grateful when the offering was a live, healthy, bird which she released into the house.

    My cat brought home mice at night, ate the bodies, and left the heads on the back porch as presents. I think it was also his way of showing that he contributing to the family.

    Our old cat, Furrball, once left only the head and feet or a bird. The effect was rather … artistic.

    What happened to the trip to the Coast? Labor Day is less than 2 weeks away. Tourist season slows down dramatically after Labor Day!

    Ugh – our cat brought in a headless rabbit carcass and dragged it up 2 flights of stairs to the hall closet – we closed the cat door at night after that!
