Luddy, look….I understand that, when this strip was drawn, in 2010, there were still things called newspapers…but seriously, you don’t ask kids today to remember something ancient like that!

Yeah…. I was gonna say there’s a lot more longevity in being a cartoon cat.

Are times so tough he can’t afford colored ink? Three days in a row this has been in black and white. I’m beginning to suspect some setting on my computer, though every other Gocomic strip is okay.

Back when this was first done, color hadn’t been invented yet.

It is colored in the print newspaper. Weird.

I love Ludwig’s facial expressions.

Mine is black and white also. And yes, there are still newspaper and kids know what they are.

Comic animals do not talk, they use thought balloons.

It’s just JJ’s subtle way of telling us that this is taking place in an alternative universe, such as in Arlo’s imagination or in a dream he had. Too subtle, it seems, for all the duhs’ out there.

The only way to improve A&J would be a sudden meeting of cat & breadtruck. The ONLY funny anthro-animal strip EVER is Get Fuzzy (where, by the way, Q4Horse, the dog & cat use speech ballons)

If you want to see the strip in color, just go back to the original strip

Please do not turn Ferdinan into a talking cat. He is perfect the way he is.

Those darn editors. Wouldn’t want to give the readers something they really like.

@gir63, that strip confirms my suspicion that Calvin’s dad was an asshole and explains a lot about Calvin himself.

As for the color thing here… not so much.

Odd, mine is in color. Yesterday was too.
