Enlighten a non-TV watcher — what cartoon is Arlo referring to here?

Did Johnson just admit that he watches “Family Guy”?

I’m more surprised that Arlo did…

I wonder if he made Lois’ noodle caboodle with M&Ms instead of paprika.

I predict that tomorrows strip will feature the cat.

I used to be a reluctant fan of “Family Guy”, but recently they told a joke so repulsive that I now go out of my way not to see it. But I do miss Stewie.

There’s a lot to be said for subtlety and making the audience think……..99% of all television doesn’t do that anymore.

Sorry. I’m not eating anything with even the slightest association with Family Guy. I used to watch it and others, but realized that they just plain weren’t good for me. And I came to realize that there wasn’t much talent behind them. Succeeding at ever escalating efforts to be nastier than the last show and the other series is not a talent, not anywhere but maybe on a middle school playground. Genuine talent doesn’t have to do that. Just like crotchless pants isn’t a good look for anyone, no matter how much neon you put on it.

I call it “armpit” humor – left to those who make “fluffy-fluffy-bang-bang” noises with their hands under their armpits and then laugh at themselves.

To Finale: Frasier was in that 1% of TV shows that had subtlety and something to make the audience think about what was said, then laugh if they could keep up. Hands down my favorite show, and I don’t even really watch TV because so much is thought-free, including the news.

I agree that FG sometimes goes way over the line. Enough so that I’m considering dropping it. But one cannot say there isn’t talent there. I love there spoofs of the “Road” movies, and the many other cultural references. I just wish they would not get so “in my face” with some of the really stupid bits. It’s as if they think if they take something idiotic and drive it into the ground it somehow becomes funny. But maybe it is to some people, I don’t know. I have been giving them the benefit of that doubt until now because the good parts are so good but, as I said, I’m reconsidering.

Seth MacFarlane does what he does very well. But it’s not for all tastes, of course. That’s why they put a warning in front of the show…

I guess I have a bizarre sense of humor. I love the Family Guy, even when they ride the jokes into the ground. However, I still don’t know what it is that Arlo and Janis are eating. The only thing that comes to mind is Stewie’s poopy diaper, but A&J wouldn’t sink THAT low.

I liked the Simpsons once very long ago, but like more shows that run for THAT FREAKING LONG, jokes got old and stale and I grew and my tastes changed. Family Guy hit the point of stale repetativeness sooner I think and decided to go with dumbing it down to compensate.

Hey, in my opinion The Simsons is the best show that has ever been on TV. It’s as fresh today as it has always been. It remains to be a brilliant satire of present day America. And it’s funnier than hell…….Family Guy does go over the top sometimes,… So does South Park. There are episodes that are pretty disgusting. But there are so many that are brilliant, it would be a shame to miss those just because of a few bad ones….Let’s not throw Stewie out with the bath water…..

I’m sure Family Guy has some funny bits. I bet I would have laughed through the entire show when I was 8 years old. Now? boring…..AND no talent. (same with “Ted”)
