Jack is being unfair here. Andy and Chalkie have empty pints. Andy can not think with an empty in front of him. I call foul on Jack.

Jack gave the answers to Andy before quiz night like trump gets the questions before any debate.

There was a classic Don Martin article in Mad Magazine about weird comic sound effects. Andy Capp accidentally drinking water was “Gahork!” with gagging.

(Though my favorite was Thor’s “Thoom thoom!” Pounding on the table with his hammer in a restaurant, trying to attract the attention of his waiter.)

By the way, to be clear the water was from a glass instead of the canal!
