@Number Six Today’s strip is no even slightly funny , at best it’s confusing , our Hero Mr Andrew Capp ’s blood test results could have read percentage of alcohol proof but not hic :o{ , my avatar today is of a guy standing on a threadmill machine without switching it on , like we we have in our bedroom ,it makes a handy clothes horse :o)how was your day? our Finally Friday like Starlet used to call it , should be busy but calm I hope, I miss the old days when we were a gang sharing our funny or sad moments of our lives.

Do the British calculate the percent of alcohol in a liquid as so much “proof”, as the U.S.A does? Or do they use a different system?

I also wonder if a Vampire would go after Andy’s blood. Or would that cause a case of Flying-Under-Influence while in bat-mode?

HIC stands for High Inebriation Concentration.

A lauded appellation to dedicated pub crawlers!

It says you can stick a broomstick in his mouth and use him as an alcohol lantern.

There’s no gag: the doctor reverts to latin, which is normal for a doctor, to display the results and say “here” in latin (hic).

This is the reason that Andy’s reached his old age. He’s been preserved in alcohol since 1957!

When (if) Andy dies, he won’t need any additional embalming.
