Honeybee is an invasive species in the Americas.

    They came with European settlers.

They pollinate & suppor invasive species of trees & plants that have ravished North & South American forests & grasslands, destroying insects & other native animals that depend on the native plants. Native pollinators are supplanted by honeybees.

But no one advocates eradicating honeybees. Instead, environmentalists join farmers in bemoaning the recent collapse of hives due to an unknown mite or fungus that no one knows how to fight against.

We are constantly preached at about invasive species and colonization. But honeybees get a pass. Why?
