Oh boy, the abortive movie date….hurry up Jan 7
G. M. O. T. !
That sure sounds like an interesting notion, Doc.
Once again, the time travel anomaly.
Read the original material first then see the movies.
Alternate Alley Oop Chapter 23 “Alley Oop Space Rebel” (448) 12/6/2018 Thursday
When the three loqaqx discover that Bex is something alien to them in a bad way,via the global forest intelligence, there immediate move to kill it and Violet. Alley Oop has drawn his blaster. He fires!
Searl’s green paw explodes and the partial plant screams. In fact they all do, start screaming. Mouths rigidly open.
The others begin to run with BEX in the lead. He-she is amazingly fast for such a large creature.
“Hey be careful up there Bex, some kinda nasty animal on the branch ahead!” Was Richard’s warning.
Alley runs up like a linebacker in a sprint and literally grabs Violet under one arm carrying her like a Frazetta muscle man from the great period of his time doing Conan and others like him. That scream never stops or loses pitch…
11/6/2018 “999” (2009)
Brilliant though he is Dr Lectaire has limits, and his nurse isn’t who she seems to be. One thing the 999 can’t have is marks finding some means of fighting their disease or their whole plot fails. The minds of their home time are vast and cool and unsympathetic to the ones living in the poison gas they call oxygen of the present.
The 999 have shown time and again their own intelligence isn’t to be underestimated and Dr. Lectaire is the linchpin to the solving of the riddle which has partly been done by him in record time. His time to remain breathing is short.
The Sixth Voyage: The River of Gems (799 A.D.)
While first Alley then Ooola take turns narrating into the small device which is a transmitter to the spatially secured remote devices since they know one is near them at all times. They are in an area reminiscent of the African planes. Some of the animals are normal, others (the lions) of strange colors and punctuated by some weird ones that are only mythical in his and Sinbad’s world.
Henri, Dr. Lectaire and Beezlebub created by Wilbur Floppenheimer
Historian Dr Cox & geologist Dr Copperhead with Doc Wonmug in the present.
Vince Hamlin’s “Nitro for Napoleon” – Episode 5 (1/25/1947)
Panel 1: Back at the lab, Bronson (to Ooola and Doc), “Certainly I disapprove your degrading use of the time-machine for treasure-huntin!”
Doc, perturbed with Bronson, points his left index finger at Bronson while his right hand rests on his hip, “Look, Amos, I’ll chuck it the minute you or any other scientific purist comes up with a more practical way of keeping this dough-eating lab in operation!”
Ooola, holding her hands outward, “Here come Alley and Oscar!”
Panel 2: Doc, as the three stare at Oop and Boom, “What on earth?”
Boom, holding a walking stick in his left hand and wearing a top hat and a long cape tied tightly at his throat, “We’d cut quite a figure walking down New Orleans Canal Street in 1803 dressed in 1947 business suits, now wouldn’t we?”
Oop, decked out in a buckskin coat and a coonskin hat, his hands on his belt and a cigar happily clamped in his mouth, “Ol’ Dan ‘l Boone, tha’s me!”
Potentially weeks of MST3K-style talking silhouettes. ✨
Sure, Doc. Take ’em to see “Young Frankenstein”. and “Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein.”
Floopsy…How she bootin’ er? Bunch a yer Canook air come down er. Never worry tho, I’ve had my double-couble and put on me toque and got me a mickey to face the world…don ch know…
Why is Mary Shelley’s picture on the back of the book?
I hope ooola doesn’t get scared when she watches the movie and run out of the theater screaming, many people did when Frankenstein was first released.
Is reading the book not an option for Oop?
Oop would only recognize any of it in the 1931 Universal film. Not in the book which has nothing but a brief mention of “life giving machines” and no reanimation scene at all. It just is skipped.
While searching for the elusive “amulet”, I came across the arc where Oop meets Jack and Carole in their studio:
Looking at that arc further, he also meets Dave Graue and V.T. Hamlin.
