“And it’s not like I noticed which shoulder it was, so I could pull it off her, Guz. This is still a FAMILY STRIP, for Cat’s sake!”

King Guz remembered Loloa’ s was on the same side as his very own. Now they better hope the gals didn’t change dresses.

I like this strip. To all the trolls that keep saying “remember the color” – Alley and Guz are colorblind. This stems from an old disproven anthropological belief that Neanderthal men were colorblind in order to help them hunt for food. This dates to the hunter gatherer belief of survival and why other hunting animals are colorblind (contrast over color).I just wish Oop and Ooola would get married already.

Who cares what strap is where or who’s who or what’s what. My Aunt Fanny could write better comics than this. What’s with the Benders? Can they get this strip out of first gear? Talk about mailing it in. Yeah, I’m a complainer. So what? This is still America and you can still complain. Regardless of what the bozos and goofballs who post here say. “I really enjoy this strip, why are you complaining?” Do you also like watching paint dry? If this strip was any dumber it would be a TV sitcom. If this strip moved any slower it would be a civil service examination. Alley Oop is the comic strip equivalent of waiting all day for the cable guy to come. “Sometime between 8AM and 7PM”. Picture a grandfather clock in a hallway somewhere going tic-toc and no other sound. That’s what’s happening here. Only way dumber. Way lamer. Somebody tell me I’m wrong.

Keep on reading and complaining about what you consider hack writing. It is good therapy.

    I like the strip, myself.

I’ll make another positive comment. I’m positive this strip has gone down the tubes.

As for Dumb and Dumber: “The dialogue goes on…. and the dialogue goes on ….” sung to the tune of the Sonny & Cher’s 1967 song “The Beat Goes On”

i’ve liked this strip for a long time but i hate what the benders are doing to it — face it — jack is too old for the daily art grind and carole too untalented to write stories beyond second-grade level.buzza wuzza is right.to all those who complain about the complainers — just read the strip and enjoy it to your heart’s content. skip over the comments and let us complainers try to improve the quality of this classic strip.

So was all the business about Earth 2, O.L. Driller’s scam, the Guz like statues, Oscar’s relapse into crime , etc . just a setup so we can watch Oop and Guz make asses out of themselves trying to identify two similar looking girls?

The intellect here still far surpasses what network TV is coming up with. If cable takes off the History channel, cable will be history – may be anyway if they don’t come up more specials like Story of US etc.

Note to strip historians: re the dress strap: Has Ooola’s dress always been the same style since beginning of the strip?

If they can’t tell colors, maybe they also can’t tell left from right? There was an army in Europe, couple centuries ago, where the new recruits couldn’t tell left from right. To solve this problem, the officers tied a small bundle of hay to one leg and a sample of straw to the other. My question is this: If they couldn’t tell left from right, how couild they tell straw from hay?(straw is the stem of oats, wheat, etc – inediblehay is the stem of clover, ie edible to animals)

They do seem to being more lethargic lately. The silhouette panels are a good example of this … using filled-in black to substitute for detail and color. Look at Guz today. It is almost as if his detail was started, then left unfinished.

Rather than a complaint, I interpret your posts as legitimate disappointment. Be assured that many of your most vocal adversaries are mostly here to be entertained by the posts, not the AO strip. As for myself, I have to admit there is far more entertainment value in the banter, as opposed to the AO strip.

I have been reading this strip since I was able to read. I]m not sure exactly how long it has been around but, I do know that Alley Oop and I are within a year or two (one way or the other) of being the same age. It’s fun reading the comments here, especially the complainers.…..People, life is seldom logical, so why look for logic in the comics. If comics were logical, they wouldn’t be the “funnies”.So enjoy the comments, and comment back, pro or con, and leave the logic in the closet.…..And, yeah, I really am that old. 80, in fact, kiddies.

Okay. I think this strip is inane. So why do I read it everyday. (I’m afraid of the answer to that one.) It must have something that draws me. Mystery of the ages. For some reason I gotta find out what’s gonna “happen” next. I dunno.
