If you didn’t teach children about religion and wait until they are 18, when they can make their own decisions, religion would be dead in a generation. Children believe in fairytales, but when they get older, not so much.

It’s not exactly what anybody with a friggin’ brain would call a “Separation of Church and State”, when members of SCOTUS hold prayer meetings with ultra-conservative religious fanatics who lobbied for years to destroy Roe.

According to Rolling Stone, a right-wing evangelical activist was caught on tape bragging she prayed with SCOTUS justices. Worse, the bible-thumper justices were praying with group that helped overturn Roe.

In hot-mic audio, someone can be heard asking Peggy Nienaber, executive director of Liberty Counsel’s D.C. ministry, “You actually pray with the Supreme Court justices?”

She responded: “I do. (ha ha) They pray with us, those that like us to pray with them.” Nienaber went on to indicate that these prayers took place inside the Supreme Court: “Yeah, we actually go in there,” she said.

When you consider the extreme rightward shift the SCOTUS has taken, nothing is surprising anymore. It reminds me of Maga bible-thumping Rep. Lauren Boebert, who said, “The church is supposed to direct the government. The government is not meant to direct the church. That is not how our founding fathers intended it.”

So, some Magas have already said it, and they’re well on their way: that want the U.S. to be a (expletive) theocracy, perhaps with a “Christian” version of a Maga Mullah Ayatollah.

The T is correct, but the other idol should be the Republican Elephant, which really should be a rat, or perhaps a cockroach.

US sees big job gains in June, fueling inflation worries

The US economy added far more jobs than expected in June and wages rose, according to government data released Friday which could fuel fears about accelerating inflation.

There were 372,000 new positions added in the month, nearly 100,000 more than economists forecast, and the unemployment rate held steady at 3.6 percent, the Labor Department reported.

Average hourly earnings rose to cement a 5.1 percent increase over the past 12 months, the report said, while the share of adults in the labor force was little changed.

I was just about to be amazed that Goodwyn got it right when I noticed that the OTHER graven image (hmm) was a Donkey. Well, half-right is waaaay better than ol ’Al usually gets. Even though calling Trumpism equivalent to … any non-cult … is clearly a lie.
