Most of the reviews of Barr’s book are… lukewarm or less… some downright negative (imagine THAT!) The ones that ring true to me say that Barr’s attempting to rewrite himself as a clear-seeing and careful fellow who just happened to work for the orange mistake. This is considerably different than the way I remember him behaving… and since I’ve seen him lie with a perfectly straight face on national TV before, I’m prepared to believe he’s doing that trick both in print and on the talk circuit while promoting the book.

You’d think the “law and order” party would be all for ensuring nobody is above the law. Unless “law and order” is a dog whistle for some…other thing…“Law and order”, but only so long as there’s a group of people the law protects but doesn’t bind, and a group of people the law binds but doesn’t protect.
So I guess we should just continue to let them eat our government from the inside out like termites. If one politician breaks the rules, that politician has a problem. If all the politicians in the party break the rules, the country has a problem. Which furthers the point that the investigation must take place in my view.
And what are they threatening to do? Abandon bipartisanship and political norms? Stack the courts with extremists? Refuse to seat Supreme Court appointees by a Democratic President? Incite violence, coups? Try to find more ways of preventing people from voting, and overturning legitimate elections? What exactly are we supposed to be scared they’ll do that they didn’t start doing a long time ago?

A hypocrite fit to be associated with trump, “Barr as attorney general in 1992 authored the report The Case for More Incarceration, where he argued for an increase in the United States incarceration rate.4 Under Barr’s advice, President George H. And, of course, he gave his biased summary of the Mueller Report.Too little, too late. If he thought trump was an “unhinged maniac”, he 1. should have said something asap, perhaps could have stopped the Big Lie; 2. should not declare he’d vote for him anyway… tends to make Billy Boy sound rather unhinged himself.
Barr: Trump got “madder and madder” when rebuffed on election fraud claims
When he entered the Oval Office, Barr said the conversation quickly turned into a back and forth between Barr and Trump about the former president’s allegations of widespread fraud.
During that conversation, Barr said Trump got “madder and madder” so Barr said that he could resign if Trump was not happy about his work.
“I said, ‘look, Mr. President, I know you’re unhappy with me. I’m happy to tender my resignation.’ Boom, he hit the desk, and said, accepted,” Barr recalled. “As I was pulling out of the White House, two of his lawyers came and pounded on the window, government lawyers, and said, ‘The president doesn’t want you to leave.’”
Barr’s resignation was official in December 2020. He has not spoken to Trump since then and said he wouldn’t particularly want to have another conversation.
“You don’t have a conversation [with him]. You mostly listen,” he said.
New book details Trump’s bizarre rant about Bill Barr’s jowls getting saggy
Barr explained that it was always easy to get time with Trump because he was probably in the dining room watching Fox, which he did so “religiously.” Impromptu meetings even seemed to happen there, with Fox blaring in the background and Trump signing autographed photos.
In one vignette, Barr recalled Trump’s calls, mostly at night, where he would ramble on and on with “only a small fraction of which related to the department.”
He wrote that Trump “watched Fox News religiously and would sometimes call to make sure I saw a particular segment.”
“The President was always prompt in giving me immediate visual feedback when I appeared on TV,” said Barr noting one “amusing conversation” about his weight after he made a self-deprecating remark about his “jowliness” on television.
“No, Bill,” Trump said. “You’re fine, you’re fine. Yeah, you’re big. But you carry it well. Whatever you do, don’t lose too much weight. Because then your face is going to sag. You’re lucky because your face, I mean your cheeks—they’re filled out. They look smooth and young. But I guarantee you, if you lose a lot of weight, you’ll look old and saggy.”

Funny but I didn’t see any ‘mean tweets’. Just honest thoughts about a corrupt president and one of his lackeys. There were no ‘tweets’.

I listened to Mr. Barr on NPR on my way into work yesterday. After decrying Trump’s appalling behavior, Mr Barr said he vote for him again.
