Those hysterical Aussies are asking their citizens now in India not to come home. Temporary travels bans are not a bad idea, look at the number of countries that we citizens of the USA are temporarily banned from.

I’m starting to like this Biden fella. He recently said:

This cartoon is based on a lie. Biden described Trump as xenophobic before the Trump travel ban was announced, and never cited it as an example of Trump’s xenophobia.

Looks like Goodwyn is trying to knock Payne off of his ‘throne!’

The problem with the China only travel ban was most of our Covid19 cases were coming from Europe.

Right now India is beyond a hotspot for Covid19, so a travel ban is warranted. However, it needs to extend to all travel from India, not just direct flights. If they fly or travel somewhere else before coming to the states without a quarantine, it could make any other travel ban from India a mute point.

Goodwyn is working very hard at ignoring the FACT that Trump only banned who were born in China from flying from China to the USA. All of those who were living in China but were not ethnic Chinese were allowed in. I guess he “thought” that the virus would not infect non-ethnic Chinese. republican “science” is amazing.

The “China ban” and “Muslim ban” were definitely discriminatory. The former allowed unrestricted travel by U.S. citizens and their relatives and then crammed them into just a few airports so if the people didn’t have Covid when they arrived they were likely exposed when they left. The latter was specifically aimed as Muslim countries that Trump didn’t like; remember most of the ones who did 9/11 were from Saudi Arabia who never gets sanctioned and the U.S. sells arms to.

Biden is restricting travel for ANYONE coming from India regardless of national origin or any other factor.

See the difference, Al? I know that you won’t.

Actually, Biden did not label Trump’s China travel ban “xenophobic”. He criticized Trump’s xenophobia for spreading fear and pointing fingers. Instead of leading the country to a solution, all Trump was doing was assigning blame (especially away from himself).

O guess ol’ Al isn’t quite able to cope with the fact that the situation is different now than it was then. After all, conservatives HATE “change”. Which is why they’re always the last to get a clue.
