As long as it’s not Ziggy’s, I think that will be fine with him.

Tell people (or birds) that something’s “scientific” and they’ll believe anything.

Rabbit starvation (malnutrition from eating too much meat)
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Jump to: navigation, search

Rabbit starvation, also referred to as protein poisoning or mal de caribou, is a form of acute malnutrition caused by excess consumption of any lean meat (e.g., rabbit) coupled with a lack of other sources of nutrients usually in combination with other stressors, such as severe cold or dry environment. Symptoms include diarrhea, headache, fatigue, low blood pressure and heart rate, and a vague discomfort and hunger (very similar to a food craving) that can only be satisfied by consumption of fat or carbohydrates.

Why am I starving? On a vegan diet here.?

    Owlish asked 3 year ago

Okay, I’ve had over 1350 calories today (which for me is enough), 30 grams of fiber (yay!), beans, rice, hummus, veggies, chips and bean&corn salsa, and about 1/2 cup of nuts. I’m not very active, so that is why my calorie intake is so low, and usually it’s plenty to keep me full. However, I’ve begun my vegan diet today, so I’ve had no meat or dairy.

More than likely, your body is used to taking in far more fat (both saturated and non) than you’re getting now. Based on what you put up as far as eating today, you’ve taken in a healthy amount, but without the added fats from meat/eggs/dairy, your body is simply not used to eating less of it, and it may try to scream “hunger” when you’re not getting as much as usual.

Can always count on the doc to show up and deny the evidence. After all, isn’t “magic man done it” a much more satisfying story? Not only can you pretend that you’re right, and everyone else is wrong, but you don’t even have to do any hard thinking.

For those looking for an on-line resource, try http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/evo_01

    For dead tree presentations, try:
Jerry Coyne “Why Evolution is True” or Richard Dawkins “The Greatest Show on Earth” (two overviews of the convergent multiple lines of evidence for evolution).
