    I use Sharpies to draw my guide lines on pumpkins, too bad they don’t come in non-repro blue.

    How does the light from the candle shine through the marker lines ? Kinda’ defeats the purpose of a Jack O’LANTERN, no ?

    Better to be cut than marked for life.

    I don’t cut them either. I paint faces on them. Then turn the other side to use for Thanksgiving. I put pumpkins in the background with my pilgrims, turkeys and Indians. When the pumpkins are starting to rot, then I’ll throw them away.

    @Amy Holt

    I paint (water-based) or glue construction paper pieces on so that they’re still good for pie.

    One year I changed hats on a Halloween scarecrow to make a Thanksgiving pilgrim of the Christmas pie’s pumpkin.
