Bird group names are fun; a squadron of pelicans, a congress, or murder of crows,an exaltation of larks, a peep of chickens, a charm of hummingbirds…..

Actually walruses are in trouble, like the Polar Bear, due to the lack of summer sea ice. Walruses use the pack ice as a diving platform to feed, and it protects the walrus pups. Now the walruses are hauled out on the coastal edges with less food and the pups are injured due to beach crowding and more prone to illness from overcrowding stress and malnutrition.

In the northwest we were promised a drought. Naturally, a week after I read they were “concerned about a drought in the northwest US” it started dumping buckets and has not really let up since. That was six weeks ago. Face it, when it comes to weather the “experts” know diddly.
