There’s also the condition known as “Endofwarranty-itis”…

Repairs can be less than the cost of a new one, Ziggy.

My truck is almost paid for. I hope I don’t suffer the same condition.

In other words, it’s going to cost to much just to repair it, right?

Now, take the amount you used spend on a car payment each month and put it into savings. Only withdraw from it for major repairs (not routine maintenence.) After a few years, you’ll probably have enough to buy a good used car (around 3 years old is the best value usually) for cash. Continue to put money into savings for the next car. Why pay interest?

Rmom, that is so extremely WISE, people wil forever despise you. At 79 I have never owned a new car and have never regetted it. My pickup is 13 years old and my car is 31. They both look nice and run well…and long paid for, with CASH that is. Not quite the American way I guess, but TOUGH COOKIE.

If you like what you have Ziggy Keep it. If not, there is something new for you right? Love the smell of a new car. But in time all things need to get freshen up a bit.
