   i’d rather have sugar if they’re out of maple syrup. even corn syrup would be better than cough syrup (though not much better).

   a NICE raspberry jam between the layers would be much better thank you.

   A LOT of times, if I have waffles, I put a bit of peanut butter and jam on it, and eat it like toast :D

    They never serve real maple syrup, anyway. Just what they call “table syrup”, which is mostly corn syrup and artificial flavoring.

    I believe cough syrup costs a lot more than pancake syrup! The diner is losing money on that one.

    I’ve tried Buckley’s, it didn’t work for me (well, other than the tasting awful part…). So I tried NyQuil / DayQuil, they didn’t taste nearly as bad and they did work for me.

    I don’t know if I’ve ever tried pancakes with anything other than syrup; I’ll have to try some of the ideas above. I like to make blueberry pancakes, if I can ever find small enough blueberries.

    French toast, however, is best with ketchup.
