   There are more appropriate ways to give someone only you know a message than plastering it across every page on a website.

   So, since there are enough people that visit this site that happen to know people who have birthdays, we should all fill the comment screens with birthday missives for them?

   Seems to me, everyday will be a mass of messages not germane to this site - comics.

   I am not against being thoughtful, just pick a comic that you know the person reads, don’t post your message on every page.

   I don’t read Ziggy regularly, but after flipping through all the other pages, I didn’t want to say falsely that the message was on each page.

   People like to spam. Already had to listen to one idiot whine about Obama being sworn in. On every page he visited. Now we have a well meaning idiot posting happy birthday to a friend on every page the friend reads. Ridiculous. Keep comments on topic, and post once at the most well read site.
