The “trick” is not hurling yourself into the abyss and finding a feather bed. There is, in fact, no “trick.” Nature doesn’t care one whit about your courage and will as readily kill the courageous as the cowardly. Nature presents possibilities. When you hurl yourself from the abyss, one possibility is a feather bed. Another possibility is a strawberry jam mess at the bottom. The “trick” is to leap, when a leap is required, without caring which lies at the bottom.

Its called a leap of faith.
Like a paratrooper…..Four commands, Stand UP, HOOK UP, STAND IN THE DOOR……GO GO GO.
    You hope the chute opens.
It is unnatural to jump out of a perfectly good airplane just as it is unnatural to take extreme risks….you do it on faith.

McKenna and I apparently lived in the Bay area at the same time, although our paths never crossed. I did get to see Ram Dass, the author of Be Here Now, through a mutual friend, though.

A Quote from Helen Keller that I liked today in one of my newsletters:
“No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit.”
This is one I’d really like to use myself, so copied to my Outlook signatures.
