A few weeks ago I saw a PBS program about condors. A young female was reluctant to leave the cliff for her first flight. The parents were clearly impatient, and the male just pushed the young one off into space. He took off after and guided her for a few hours until she had confidence.

Earth forms are fractal upward and downward. How far upward and downward does Earth creature behavior extend?

Love the artwork too. I miss old fashioned Disney art. Hate the computer stuff.

Humans have wings, they’re just attached to something called an airplane. Darn tricky things to learn to fly but very entertaining none the less.

I love this strip, the story is like the artwork, simple and beautiful at the same time.

It’s obviously the subject of much scientific and literary speculation. Can we ever imagine freely enough?

Humans looked upon the birds and wished they too could fly.
So they thought a while – and they did.

Lemmings don’t normally jump off cliffs. They don’t even rarely jump off cliffs. Nature myth, possibly stated by Walt Disney in his film “White Wilderness”.

I once read a science fiction story, I think “Staras Flonderans”, about some graceful interstellar beings watching us “flounder to the stars” in spaceships. So, we flounder through the skies in airplanes. Maybe not hang gliders, tho’.

As far as the biology goes of course. We are all related to every other life form on this planet.

We still couldn’t fly. We would need to be small and have a very light body and very long wings.
