…that’s so true, but easier said than done.

Won’t get many second dates, though, either…

You only need second dates with the right person – 25 years and counting

The man I love has been in his own business for almost 50 years and enjoys it too much to retire (he says it’s all the exercise he needs and it pays his bills). He started as a journeyman machinist at the age of 16 and worked for others until he was married. We’ve both been divorced for many decades.

Choosing a job you love and GETTING the job you love are two different things.

If everybody had a job they loved, who’d be left to clean toilets and pick up the trash?

Yep, been a reality for me for just over a year now. I drew this strip when I was still working my miserable office job.

More like >LAND< a job that you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.

Too bad for the boys, too, if they miss out on a woman cartoonist!

I bet that most cartoonists find from a young age that the pencil is the best toy there is.
better than tinker toys, lego, and that trying to do art using tempra and a huge big brush in early elementary school is frustrating if you draw a lot.
I also thought that thatababy grows up!

Just want to say that I like the work you’re doing here. The one about critics was applicable to a “conversation” some GoComics readers were having a day or two ago, so I cross-linked it to the Endtown strip then.

I once dated a female artist (not cartoonist). She was killing herself making enough paintings to make a living on, and was so busy I’d only see her about once a month. She was married to her art, which didn’t leave much room for affairs with living people.

If I could, I would. My dad always discouraged me from drawing because he said there was no money in it…. but I love drawing.
