No, the equinox is only in the spring and fall when the day/night length is the same.

and, it also depends where on the earth is your summer. near the poles, your summer is close to 24 hours of daylight(but during the winter, 24 hours of night). near the equator, 12 hours of daylight, 12 hours of night, all the time.

The word you wanted is ‘solstice,’ but you probably already got that – no biggie; we all knew what you meant.

Go boys, hurry! You’ve got a lot of summer fun to pack in yet!

Assuming both boys are ten, isn’t Zack’s friend too young to be shaved bald?

I’m afraid so. You see, our world has reached the halfway point around the sun. Therefore, (and I’m guessing this) a week after the longest day of the year, the days start to recede (fall back). By October, it gets darker sooner and, depending on what direction your house is positioned, you’ll notice that the sun has “moved” its position, giving your one side of your home more light. Perfect if you like having sunlight in you living room..

Regardless of the length of the day, it’s clearly not night-time in this strip. Why is is time to come in?

Was looking at some old pictures of my dad as a kid, and he described his haircut as a “baldy sour”, a common term back in the 40s and 50s. (NOT the modern definition on Urban Dictionary!)
