Zack needs to find a friend like Ox in Luann. Ox is not a bully but is a BIG guy so no one messes with him and he hates bullies.

You were never bullied by the wise-mouthed little twerp who had the big lummox standing behind him to keep you from slapping him down? Is that what you want Zack to become? Part of Zack’s charm is that he’s insensitive and snarky just like a real kid. Give him protection and he would over-do it, and that would take Zack to a very dark place. Just my opinion (and some childhood trauma) there.
