One of Yenny’s shoe boxes would hold a pretty big baby!
fmilling18 said, 3 months ago
Wow… so THAT’S how big Keyla was at birth…
I guess we can assume when Yenny was born she was as big as Yessy when Yessy was born…
fmilling18 said, 3 months ago
Indeed it is beautiful!
Oh and those who are still wondering what Keyla’s face looks like…and haven’t seen it by now… You might just want to check the June 6th 2006 Yenny strip…

Thanks fmilling18. keyla’s face may not be as striking as Yenny’s still it will not break the mirror.

Why does Keyla’s mom remind me of an Ozark hillbilly. Must be the hat.
Dracip said, 3 months ago
Do we know for sure she’s not an Ozark hillbilly?

Hey, Fmiling, thanks for pointing that strip out. I wastrying to look for the exact date. I dont want to keep Keyla’s face as a mystery. It’s just that she’s so tall to fit in the panels.
Keyla and her mom are hillbilies. (Jibaros for us boricuas). They live in the mountains and come to visit Yeny and her family every now and then.
I somehow like drawing these family reunion strips. We Boricuas are loud and love weekend get togethers.

I’m also glad that you guys dig the skin tone pallette. Rarely two skins are alike in the real world and the same thing happens in Villa Los Kubos.

Where’s Abuela Ana? Can’t have a family reunion without Abuela Ana.

Abuela Ana is Rafa’s (Yenny’s dad) mom. She doesn’t get along with Yunissa.

To Dave…
Thanks! I love the history of the Yenny family.
But where is “Yanny” Dave… (Yenny’s mom’s mom?) She gets along just fine, but we have not seen her since the baby shower!
To Tennessee Charlie
Try to copy and paste the links… it would let you have a nicer and longer reading if you do that… (hint hint..copy and paste……)

I love that we get to see a cross section of the family at once

I’m curious. Why does GoComics insist on a 600px limit? That sort of res was ok back in the 90s but now it’s an eyestrain for people with modern monitors (not to mention a tragic waste of the original image quality).
Does subscription increase the size or do they seriously expect people to pay money for thumbnails?

PVC tubing? That’s quite narrow for a baby of Keyla’s hieght. I could go with Zacha’s remark on a golf bag.
I’d like to see pictures of the girls as youngters, señor Álvarez. (I do remember you seeing my comments wondering about Keyla’s birth height and you said to wait until Saturday. It is Saturday now. So gracias for answering my mind-boggler a little.)
Also, señor Álvarez, why DOES Abuela Ana not get along with Yenny and her her mother besides the immodesty? Is it because they’re jíbaros?

Comic Xavier: One of the plans I had before Alias cut all of it’s mainstream titles was to do a Yunissa story. Their not getting along is a long story but basically Rafa was Yunissa’s modeling manager and she got pregnant from him. So the wedding was basically a forced one. That’s why Abuela Ana never got along with her.
Mister -Ru: Yeah, that’s the pixel limit in Gocomics.. I tried to make larger comic strips but GC told me to goback to 600 because it gets cut in half when zoomed.
Fmiling: I will bring Yanny back these days for the new storyline. Ironically I started this strip with such a small cast, (Yenny, Zacha and Yunissa). And now we have a whole town of characters each with their own story. Man, what a headache!

@Dave Alvarez – you should check the Pibgorn page, that comic is HUGE.
If Brooke can do it, why won’t they let you do it?

Yeah, I’ve seen the comic. Brooke was one of the first cool mainstream cartoonists who gave me a nice review of Yenny.
His strip is huge like you said because it’s drawn in a Sunday comic format. But in width dimensions is exactly as Yenny is.

*Replay1111 - “What’s with Yenny and feet related stuff you ask?”
Because feet are a major part of the Yenny storyline. There has been tons of funny gags and serious dramatic plots mostly centered on Yenny’s feet and it’s been that way throughout the series for years…
*Dave - That sounds cool, It will be nice to see the other Grandma of the family again.
and I definitely see, how far you’ve gone with the amount of characters since 2002. I’m very sure it’s a big headache, but it seems you handle all of the characters pretty well!

Is there a place to check out past yenny strips without a paid subscription? I’m too poor to have “genius” status here :(
