    Hulk: Fox jump over Dog.

Yoda: Over the lazy brown dog, the quick sly fox jumps.

At least she didn’t give them “That that is is not that that is not, and that that is not is not that that is.”

QBX… “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”… was the phrase computer engineers used to check keyboard functions… It’s the shortest English phrase that uses all the letters of the alphabet.

Does anyone remember MST3K proposing the Rondo Hatton version of EVERYBODY’S TALKIN’? “Everybody talk me. Can’t hear word say…”

Wonder if it has anything to do with them being green?

    I thought it was:
the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs back.
It was a test for teletype machines and comm lines.

BTW, I hated sentence diagramming. I once saw a cartoon where a student asked the teacher “how much does a sentence diagrammer earn?”

They both collaborated on this project. They cut the words and hung them on strings and made a nice diorama. They may have not understood exactly what the teacher was saying.

There are different variants. The fix changes from brown to sly, and the dog becomes brown, with reference to his back dropped. As long as it has all 26 letters. -—————————————————————————————
I suspect that sentence diagramming is just a single task, and not a career. Ironically, the cartoons does two things: it gives a laugh because of the student’s line, and it also reminds us that students aren’t the best judge of what they need to learn before they’ve learned it.

    It’s been a long time since I diagrammed a sentence…

“Hulk not like sentences. Hulk SMASH!” LOL. The teacher had better get out of the way and hope Yoda can calm Hulk down with the Force. ;)

@johnzakour… you may be onto something. It ain’t easy being green, remember? But then, Kermit does speak in full, normal sentences. Maybe he has evolved past the fractured sentence structure phase…

…with diagraming all I remember the “house” thingy with the dotted line in the middle!
