    Translation:
    “You’re about to be screwed but don’t expect a kiss.
    And BTW my drinks are comped.”

    English translation:
    I’m not sure, American is a strange, obscure and less popular language, but I think
    screwed – to be cheated (there’s a sexual play on words also, hence the reference to kiss).
    BTW – by the way.
    comped – complimentary.

    @Prof d'anglais

    Thank you Prof for your American to English translation. I sure my friends across the pond will appreciate it. It was as they say Spot on.

    Well, I didn’t get the comped, hard to keep up with all the new slang on the other side of the Atlantic, so thanks Prof d’anglais.

    People from various parts of the USA don’t understand each other.
    As for Rita, looks like she’s not playing with a full deck, she’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer, she’s got a few screws loose, she’s got bats in the belfry, she’s missing a few marbles.

    @cabalonrye… ‘comped’ is a shortened term for ‘complimented’, a derivative of ‘complimentary’ in this case. Meaning Rita’s drinks are free. Forever.

    That poor kid is about to enter the worst deal of his short life. Unless one of the guys can rescue him before the deal is done.

    This is why the worker must own the means of production.

    If he turns it down, he could set up next day and encounter a hostile takeover. Rita knows some touch kids she could send around. Then he’d be lucky to get a nominal buyout.

    read the first sentence, drop to the last one…
    I get it, corporate inflections on a kid’s business….
    life is too short to read all what’s in between, now move along

    @nighthawks

    Yes, John and I discussed this. It’s not vital to read every word to get the point. We’ve even had some panels where wordy dialogue ran behind the characters. But hopefully, no one’s life is so short that they can’t spare a moment to read it. I don’t see any comets coming this way today.

    Swimming with sharks, or swimming with leeches?
    This looks like a compromise, swimming with lampreys.
