    There’s a sheet bend and a carrack bend and a reef knot and the ever popular frayed knot.

    OK, I know that it’s just a comic strip and follows the laws of cartoon physics, but… shouldn’t at least one of the ropes be going around the tree?

    As someone who’s read about sailing, I understood. Also, a sheet bend is a type of knot, as I’m sure you know.

    The bowline is one knot I’ve had a hard time figuring out.
