    How about the teachers teaching the kids and the teachers acting like professionals?

    (Four immediate family members were teachers and I don’t think they’d recognize what goes on today.)

    Don’t know what this has to do with the comic, but I’m with you. Here’s a novel idea, set the alarm for when you want to get up and when it goes off, get up. Unless the whole point is just to annoy everyone else within earshot.

    on the alarm clock idea; i saw one that is a mat, you have to stand up to turn it off; though I’ve put my alarm across the room for the same idea; i just go back to bed; sorry evol i have to get up but don’t want to

    @Me3000

    I don’t think anyone who uses an alarm clock really wants to get up when it goes off. I never did, but I’ve never understood the reasoning for setting it earlier than you had to and then going back to sleep for a couple more minutes. I never particularly cared for being jolted awake any more often than necessary.:)

    I agree. My son’s middle school went to uniforms so the children could “concentrate on academics not fashion”. While the teachers came to works in clothes I wouldn’t wear to watch TV, let alone inspire a work ethic in children.

    the latest data from NEAP shows that achievement is increasing and minorities are closing the gap. I blame teachers, too.

    Teaching starts at home, with:
    1. the parents teaching the children respect for teachers and other adults.
    2. Parents: a) loving each other and b) providing a United front against the world to protect the family and c) providing a United front against children running the household.
    3. Parents teaching children that: a) knowledge is valuable and b) knowledge is power and c) gaining knowledge is a desireable thing and d) knowledge is not wisdom and also what the difference between the 2 are.
    .
    Teachers need to be given the power to teach and not have to be a referee or suffer abuse from students, whether verbal or physical. And, yes, teachers need to behave and dress like grown-ups, not like hookers, gigolos, or in the ‘most current teen fashion that exists’.

    Maybe that should be “what the difference between the 2 is.”

    Or “what the difference is between the 2”?

    I’m guility of hitting the snooze button over and over. It means that I’m so tired, that I just want to get back to sleep. Again and again.
