The Wizard of Id has been enchanting audiences since 1964, but the real wizards behind this comic classic were artist Brant Parker and writer Johnny Hart.
The pair began paving the path to the Kingdom of Id in 1950, when Parker, a staff artist for the Binghamton Press in upstate New York, was asked to judge a high school art contest. Among the entrants was a teenager by the name of Johnny Hart, whose work so impressed Parker that he arranged a meeting.

“I used to wonder why a frisbee seemed to grow larger the closer it came. Then it hit me.’
(Don’t know which comedian came up that.)

How does your joke relate to the comic?
It doesn’t, but it’s funnier.

How about: If you believe you can get away with peeing in my yard then you’re better off believing flying dragons can catch garbage can lids in midair?

I read the joke to my husband, and he quickly curled up in a fetal position, laughing.

Aye…and several reports of a flying saucer like object being chased by Henry,The Wizard’s pet Dragon. The growing belief is that Henry is,in fact,CHASING OFF,invaders from another world whose object it is to conquer and enslave us all. Putting to rest once and for all,the belief that: “no good came come from having a pet Dragon”. My God….could this possible lead to yet another religion….Henry Worship?

The Children wearing Dragon costumes with an H on the front taking the place of some red and blue costumes wearing fellow with an somewhat odd looking S on the front. Sorry Lois.

ANd you can’t buy a trash can lid. The s.o.b.s make you buy a whole new can. THAT should be illegal.

For some reason, the first joke was funny to me, but your’s isn’t.

Sadly I have to agree with you. I re-read the second joke trying to find out why it failed to amuse me, and perhaps I have a very dirty mind, but the statement “and his full sack was dripping blood” tipped me off so the punch-line became old news.
