Just a curiosity point. I don’t ever recall seeing a way to shut saloon door entrances after business hours in either the movies or the comics. In real life how did they do it? Or are saloon doors a movie invention?

There’s usually a security shutter, pinned back against the wall. Most windows have them too.

Watch John Wayne’s last movie, “The Shootist,” which is set in Carson City, Nevada in January 1901. In the movie, the Metropole saloon has a set of outer doors that were kept open during business hours, and the inner batwing doors were used by the customers.

Why do you think Bob Hope always had a couple of vivacious women movie stars with him under those conditions?!!

    1) None of the arrow heads have actually pierced his skin.
    2) He’s so drunk he feels no pain.
    3) It’s a cartoon!

Sure he was. It was entertaining to see if they could hit him. Id’s 500 archers did very well, don’t you think?

They need stronger bows. None of the points penetrated his skin.
