The pair began paving the path to the Kingdom of Id in 1950, when Parker, a staff artist for the Binghamton Press in upstate New York, was asked to judge a high school art contest. Among the entrants was a teenager by the name of Johnny Hart, whose work so impressed Parker that he arranged a meeting.

Wow, that’s championship stuff; he can’t do it every time.
At least he’s comfortably numb.

What was Bung before he became a “fool?” Was he merely the Court Jester of Id 20 years ago? Hasn’t he been a regular character on the strip for about 45 years?
Looks like a good recorded entry for “Id’s Funniest Videos” TV show.
Bung is a literal falling down drunk.
It seems that the average person in Id is a fool. So, that just makes Bung “normal” in the community.

The happiest most contented person I ever
met was a fool with a IQ of 70……nothing
EVER bothered him or upset him…..
I envied that sucker…..

I wouldn’t.
I dislike conflict more than anything in the world, but I wouldn’t trade my capacity for being bothered for cutting my I.Q. by more than half - or for anything else, either.
If we’re not seriously bothered by the way the world is, then something is seriously wrong with us. And being bothered about ourselves is the only way we can grow,
Thankfully, boldyuma, your friend’s opportunities for personal growth don’t stop here. Enough said.

for a jester’s main employment
is to kill himself for your enjoyment
and a jester unemployed,
is nobody’s fool!
