The pair began paving the path to the Kingdom of Id in 1950, when Parker, a staff artist for the Binghamton Press in upstate New York, was asked to judge a high school art contest. Among the entrants was a teenager by the name of Johnny Hart, whose work so impressed Parker that he arranged a meeting.

Yep, that’s just how life is. Just as soon as you think things are going your way, something comes along to crush you.

I’ll second that notion, tbree.

I bet that’s the last time he reads his fortune even though
it came true.

Prim example / demonstration of said law !
Hope my HMO is better than Rodney’s .
She looks strikingly like Nurse Mildred “Big Nurse” Ratched .
Recovery for me would be stimied .

Not the nose! That 50% of Rodney’s body!

“… in bed!”
And it came true!
Chateaux Margaux said, 2 months ago
His nose was injured too. How painful. More painful is being served horrible Jello.

Bung has always been “full of spirit(s)” in this strip. So, the fortune is “forth-telling” and not foretelling.
Sir Rodney is accident prone.

My fortune cookie said, “Hurry up and pay your bill. Other people are waiting for your table.”

Years ago on the show “Becker” Ted Danson
had a story about good luck/bad luck which
he called his ‘rubber band’ theory…….
The rubber band get’s streched out so far
with good luck and then…wham… get’s you
in the end…..That’s when you look up to the
heaven’s and say…”Wow I didn’t see that one
coming….I like your work”…

tbree said, 2 months ago
Doesn’t matter if you watch where you are going. Even looking straight ahead, you’ll miss the piano falling from three stories straight up.

Why is Bung suddenly sober in the third to last panel? Did the green tea detoxify his liver?
