The pair began paving the path to the Kingdom of Id in 1950, when Parker, a staff artist for the Binghamton Press in upstate New York, was asked to judge a high school art contest. Among the entrants was a teenager by the name of Johnny Hart, whose work so impressed Parker that he arranged a meeting.

Someone needs to knock that cross off his head. Where’s William Tell when you need him?

I would think it would just bring more pleasure to his opponents to cut him down to size in a slaughter

Do not worship the idol of King Fink on that chess. I don’t need to worship that idol anyway.

the cross merely serves to indicate that the playing piece is the king, as a king’s crown is surmounted by a cross.
SQUIDBREAKER said, 4 months ago
Yeah, but we need some ‘Cross Movement’ now.
That’s the problem with kings - they just sit around and wait for the queen to be the key offense and defense. Chess is kind of a wimpy game, but I bet Pelosi loves it.
@wise guy -
I owe you for the 4th - I replied to et2008 on the 4th in ‘new adventures’ later, but appreciated your back-up.

I’m guessin’ there’s no queen in the Kingdom of Id.
SQUIDBREAKER said, 4 months ago
There might be, but she’s OK just keeping down the fort,
like all overworked stay -at - home wifes.

“Yeah, but we need some ‘Cross Movement’ now.”
As in hockey?
Cross-checking is a penalty, but the King is so small…the ref wouldn’t even see it.

@ Jor-el:
Not as in hockey but as in hip -hop bands. I use hip-hop checks as my defensive strategy when needed.
“Cross movement and Verbal Contact and KIIS - best hip hop artists around!
