The pair began paving the path to the Kingdom of Id in 1950, when Parker, a staff artist for the Binghamton Press in upstate New York, was asked to judge a high school art contest. Among the entrants was a teenager by the name of Johnny Hart, whose work so impressed Parker that he arranged a meeting.

It would have been a bit more helpful to have a trash can.

there is a spreading mindset in my community, which I am ashamed of, where people discard their refuse, whether in a car or not by simply letting it loose from their hands wherever they are……trash can nearby or not…
and I see the same thing by their children….
finished with the candy bar or the soda can…]
ok, just drop it..
.let someone else pick it up if they want to —-
selfish , lazy , apathetic and ignorant and handing down the habit to their offspring
perhaps hanging litterers chained upside down in the dungeon would be a deterrent

What the trash is for? Use it to dump the litters in, not dump the litters all over the parks and everywhere! sheeshhhh!

Congressional picnic spot - waiting for us to clean up after the mess they created by not reading the legislation.

Sometimes I think the BIG litter problem started with filter cigarettes - people became accustomed to just tossing or stomping them wherever they were, and trash just followed as a logical progression.

I was taught to have a bag in the car. empty in a can or can at home. One “friend” handed me a can and remarked that I was still holding it! Told her I’ll hold it UNTIL we get to a can I bike on these roads!!! Didn’t even think that if I was caught throwing stuff out a moving car I would get the ticket!!!!!
