   On a serious note, I’d like to remind everyone that feeding only dog food to cats can cause them to go blind — they need taurine, which is not in dog food.

   ^Good point, really! Cats are NOT dogs, and are “prime carnivores”, meaning they DO require different food than dogs! Also, old people, and young people, require balanced diets too, which a constant diet of “pre-packaged” foods, do NOT provide.

   So true, when I buy my elderly mom tinned cat food, I ensure she gets some crunchy pellets for roughage and in between snacks but the main course meals are always cooked. The butchers gives me all his off-cuts and offal while the fish-mongers gives me the fish that aren’t selling well.
