see, i wonder. every time i look again, i wonder stuff like: how did the kid get over to the little mound? what the heck is that little mound? why for pete’s sake did he go over to the mound anyway? and why onto the mound instead of in the water with the other kid? are his parents concerned enough? what’s the kid trying to tell the, uh, strang-ers, uh, strangers … with … a … camera? why is their collective response so rubber? what is in the toonist’s mind when he makes up stuff like this? there’s gotta be more to it than a simple cute toon with no political editorial significance. yes?
Perhaps it’s simply a ‘toon for the unusually warm (they say “hot”) weather the UK has been experiencing this past week.
Great beach weather. Perhaps the cartoonist wandered down to Southend-on-sea with his family and observed a kid hamming it up.

There is obviously an intent behind “Charlie” hamming it up.

Yup, NB is like Canada’s Florida so soon Acadia will be covered with tacky RV driving, speedo-wearing, tabarnak and ciboire-screaming quebeckers.
…like my step-brother.
