I think you have to speak Deep Sticks as a second lauguage to get this one.

I’m not clueless to what that means (like the rest of you are!). I live here in deep south. And don’t use the term “sticks”, it’s sort of degrading to us folks here in the south!

“How’s ya momma and ’em?” A favorite New Orleans Yat-ism.

I’ve been in 47 of the 50 states and have seen “sticks” in every one of them.

This one was suggested to me by a good friend here in central NC. Momma an’ em. I believe there was a movie titled “Daddy and Them” a few years back. Not very good but with a cameo by the great John Prine!

    Momma + ‘em = Y’all.

Momma + ‘em “not =” Y’all, unless you’re talkin’ to Momma or one of ’em.

What if I’m talkin’ to all of ’em?

I think it is a reference to “If Momma ain’t happy, there’s nobody happy.”
