“F is also for all those words Fiona uses against the flies in her flat-top Fiat. Words you’re not actually supposed to know at your age.”

I had a Fiat 124 Spider. Bought it new because I totaled my Pontiac Firebird while driving down to the induction center back when I got drafted (and then joined, paying for being able to work in the field I was educated in with another year of service).

Army sent me to Panama and I drove that Fiat from Indiana to the Canal Zone. Performed flawlessly. Shipped it back to New Orleans (It was common shipping cars back and forth between the CZ and NO) when I got out. It was the only car on the boat that started without assistance after being unloaded in NO.

Fiona? I lived in Dixie for thirty years, and never heard the name. I thought it had a high-falutin’ sound to it until I saw Shrek.

My grandchildren could always tell when I had been driving across Montana because the front of my cars was covered in bug splats! The guy at the carwash hated it because it took two scrubbings to get the bugs off.
