When I was a little kid, I thought 18, 19 & 20 years old was SO adult. Today, I can look back with only respect and admiration at what these young kids did: enlisting, training and fighting an experienced enemy far from their homes, sacrificing their time, health and lives to keep freedom alive.

“The Longest Day”, and now we’re still in our longest war, to expand OUR “sphere of influence” in Asia and the Middle East. What did these men end up fighting, and dying, for?

I saw the documentaries. It is a miracle the troops made it through that killing zone. And this was the WEAK spot! Can you imagine the defenses where Hitler expected the landing, around Calais? You have to admire these soldiers who stormed forward once the shield went down into the bullet hail of several MG-42 machine guns with up to 1200 bullets per minute. A real meat grinder that day was. I’m so sorry for all the pain Germany has inflicted upon the world and will do my level best to not let history repeat itself!
