My Granny told me about the Black Friday in 1928 and how live changed for her and our family here in Germany. I don’t want to go through this as well. And then there is the prospect of a civil war in the U.S. after the collapse of the economy and the political system, one the President might have to end with the use of nuclear weapons. If Tom Clancy were still around this is what he might write about…

If Clancy were alive, he would bitchslap Handlesman to his knees for this.

What a vile man. He is desecrating Clancy’s grave before it has even dug.

R.I.P, Tom Clancy. I think Red Storm Rising was his finest work. This is a clever cartoon, working in his titles with the current political morass.

The current (NOT necessarily “original”) TEA party folks would be “The Scum of All Fears”. Clancy saw that a Russian sub commander might seek freedom in the U.S.. With “Patriot Act”, “Military Commissions Act”, and many right-wing sponsored bills, actions, and propaganda, let alone two unjust wars built on lies, that only weakened our prestige around the world, that commander might have second thoughts today.

Clancy well knew the power of spreading fear among the populace, as do the neocons bent out of shape because they’ve lost some of their power. Cruz represents the public affairs officer on a sinking ship, may the next headline describe Bob Ballard seeking the wreck with sonar.
