I saw a really fat woman when I was a little kid, and said to my mama “she must be rich she’s so fat”
Her house looked all run don, tho.
Mama said "no she’s poor. The only food poor people can afford are fattening, like rice, noodles, beans, bread, and potatoes. turns out she was right.
expensive things are healthier, like fresh fruits and vegetables, good cuts of meat, and if you don’t have to worry whether you can pay your rent, car insurance and buy food, your body doesn’t hold onto every calorie it gets.

I like that comment my brother. I was told something similar. I also know that when the time comes that we ARE on that Med. diet the “fat” people are the ones that get followed home. Then, as the food situation gets fatally desperate, those with the most meat on their bones will be invited for dinner…if you know what I mean.
mmmmmmm, pork. It’s what’s for dinner.

Yeah, I look at the prices at the store going up every day, seeing that now there are certain days when the shelves seem ….neglected, and I am glad I have planned ahead and prepared. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. And stock needs to be rotated so I have stuff that goes to the soup kitchen as it nears replacement date. Plus I have the ability and the space to grow enough food if necessary. The wife and I don’t eat much anymore. But with all that we still need to count our blessings. The store still has stock, we can still get toilet paper ( a “trade” item one may want to stock up on along with coffee and sugar) because the way we are going the Med. diet is coming.

Don’t look now, but it’s gaining on us. Oops, no pun intended!
