Well, the answer to that is a new Congress. Looks like a few Teabaggers (e.g., Walsh) are gone now, and version 2.0 (e.g., Mourdock), failed in their attempts, so maybe the rest of the GOP will do what’s right for a change.

They can’t, or Grover Norquist will come for them and haunt their dreams until they are soulless, broken shells of humans… Hmmm…. Come to think of it, that may already have happened :-)

After the storm, the more people working together to clean up the trash, bag it, and get it to the street, the faster we have a clean house ready for remodeling and/or repair.
I hope we can work together to accomplish the revitalization of our nation..
Without insults, without accusations, and with cooperation, the American people, United, can accomplish anything.
    Respectfully,
    C.

As ye sow, so shall ye reap! Obama hasn’t done anything except pass that God-awful health bill and run for re-election. How in God’s name he ever got re-elected is beyond me. I think we are seeing the last days of freedom in this country. If there is another election in four years, I will be surprised.

Nothing except give oppressed minorities (and in the case of women, majorities) the same rights as rich straight male whites have – assuming these reforms are actually enforced. Yeah, the health bill still enriches the insurance companies, and the world-wide concept that a healthy citizenry is in the national interest is still foreign to this nation alone, it was probably the best that could have passed a reactionary House and blue-dog Senate. Still, there is room for improvement and if the Green and Justice Parties would get together, it might ultimately happen – or the Democrats move back to something FDR and Sam Rayburn might recognize.

We may have seen the end of the TeaBaggers as a political force. They won some primaries by defeating moderate Republicans which ensured their loss to the Democrats in the election. The GOP created them to gin up the right wing lunatics, which resulted in the GOP losing all credibility.

This may result in a beautiful fragmentation of the Republican Party.

A conservative REPUBLICAN said that the rules should be amended so that there are no pledges other than to uphold your oath of office. Let’s try and get them to adopt that rule in January (when the rules changes get passed).
