   If ever there was a place to understand why Obama didn’t respond to Mitt’s calumnies it’s this place.

   How many times have either side said something that the other side disagrees with?

   And how many time have “we” explained to “you jabronies” just why “You’re flat out wrong!”?

   How many times has that response changed ANYTHING?

   Obama didn’t feed the troll!

   You’re all mad because he didn’t. Except those of you who think that not feeding the troll means you lose!

   I hate to use the currently overused phrase, but that’s what happened. Mitt threw out the bait and Obama wouldn’t bite, so Mitt threw out more bait.
   .
   Lefts are mad at Obama because he didn’t smack the snot out of Romney. But there’s not a single one of them that was convinced that maybe Romney was right because Obama didn’t respond to Mitt.
   .
   Mitt didn’t “win” anything. And when you are as far back as Mitt is, not winning is losing.

   Lots of sour grapes here. Even Mr. “Thrill up my Legs” Matthews had the balls to admit that Romney trounced Obama. Obama “didn’t bite” because he didn’t know what Romney was even talking about. Romney was schooling little Barry like he was a truant street urchin. When a guy looks confused, and can only criticize the other guy, using lies about “Trillions of dollars” that Romney is going to “give” to billionaires, while having NOTHING to say about himself except that he’s going to repeat what he did the PAST FOUR YEARS (four years that Joe Biden said “buried” the middle class—google it), then there’s little chance that he’s going to recover, because his quiver is EMPTY.

   Mitt has become the smoke and mirrors guy personified, neither “flipper”, nor “etch-a-sketch” can match his wil-o-the- wisp ability to change costumes, or his ability to disappear in a mirror.

    Appears presidential debates have degenerated into fodder for attack ads and content for networks ratings. An opportunity to outline and debate alternative policy they are not. Romney just proved you can win debates with a barrage of verbiage and inconsistencies. I’m betting the Obama side will adjust to the new reality.

    Obama did not say much because he cannot defend his record. It is the pitts! I do not understand how so many people can say Mr. Romney lied. Put down the kool-aid pitcher and pay attention! Obama is the liar here!

    Before I get started, let me say that I usually scroll past your work because my sense of it is that it, and you, are childish and shrill. But I’ll address your concerns here and if it turns out you can have an adult conversation then We’ll proceed from that reality.

    No, I just saw the debate in different terms than most people did. Nothing could make me happier than to understand things differently from the crowd. So I guess from your perspective that is sourness, from mine it is sweet!.

    Two answers to this:

    1. I don’t care what pundits and editorial cartoonists think. I’ll take their POV into account, but I am ever mindful of their agenda. Chris Matthews is a guy who likes to fight. He is political theater with an Irish mug personality. So when there isn’t a fight, he’s unhappy.

    2. I can’t say you as in yohannbiimu because I don’t read you, but I can say that a particularly strong meme amongst the “right wingers” is that all not right wing (otherwise known to the righties as the “libs”) people would not/ could not say anything against Obama. It has always been a false image but here we see clearly just how false it is. And just where is the “Aha” moment for the right? That they all of a sudden see that,“you know what?We’ve been wrong, they’re willing to pile on Obama too!”?

    And you know this how? You spend how many hours per day engaged in the actual minutia of governing? You’ve risen exactly how high in your chosen field? Obama has risen to the top in his field (Maybe he was sent there too soon in 2008, but this isn’t 2008 anymore.) I think it is a more reasonable assumption that Obama could follow Mitt’s thoughts and made the conscious decision not to engage where it made no sense to engage.

    Romney wants to cut taxes and increase Pentagon spending. Romney wants to eliminate the Estate Tax, How many trillions of dollars wiil that cut alone cost the nation? He wants to cut (if not eliminate) the Capital Gains rate. Now, who do you think those cuts will benefit most extraordinarilly? Do you think the Middle class will be helped by an elimination of the Estate tax? Well, the tax doesn’t even kick in until there is an estate valued over $5,000,000 (10 for a couple) so most middle class people will not benefit from the elimination. Cap gains, Perhaps you don’t know of the emergence of the Private equity world. Without SERIOUS (50Mill and up) money, you will never be a serious part of it. That’s where you get Double click for pennies a share after it’s already worth dollars per share.

    We already have Mitt and the rest of the hedge fund management community converting ordinary income into Capital Gains, and Mitt wants to eliminate the tax on Cap Gains… That doesn’t raise a red flag for you?

    Point being that it is not a lie to say that Mitt is giving big tax breaks to the wealthy. Obama tried several times to get Mitt to be specific. But Mitt preferred to lie to you about his intentions.
