Exxon Mobil’s excuse on the Yellowstone River spill is pretty ridiculous, just like the Valdez incident, or the hundreds of other spills that occur every year, but don’t make “press”. The 43 and 31 CFRs need to undo the damaging regulation changes that occurred in 2007.

And yet these companies to continue to get comparatively mild slaps on the wrist. What will it take for our government to punish oil companies in a way that’s meaningful to them??
