Everybody hates us, so we may as well do whatever the hell we want… did you see how that widow glared at us? Told you so.

No, they weren’t all enemies. And the US was with Syria too if you recall.

No Liberals I know would want such imperial interference. Too bad everyone else wants to.

Well all that imperial hubris, and having our troops in 134 countries have something to do with it. So “doing what we want” caused it so how does “doing what we want” help?

I believe government’s only legitimate function is to serve the governed – and I mean AII of the governed, not just those who provide bribes – I mean campaign donations. The government of Syria obviously fails that test, but so does many of the groups in opposition. There is no chance that the people of Syria, and especially the women and children, will come out of this with anything better than continued servitude. And we know from Afghanistan and Iraq and Vietnam what happens when “democracy” is forced on all the male snakes in those countries. I doubt Syria would be any different. Let the Middle East sort itself out. I’ve read several books showing that the present mess is the West’s meddling, so let them see if the Middle Eastern countries are fit for civilized society.

“Syria is a civil war. Maybe the libs who hate Bush and ironically demand we invade Syria can go first?”

Or any conservatives for that matter. Can you name a liberal who’s demanding to invade Syria.
