From the start, Boehner knew that he couldn’t fail to raise the debt ceiling. And there was a chance enough Republicans might not vote to raise it in time. So he let the Tea types stop the CR causing what Fox called the ‘slimdown’. Only a very small percentage of Americans were severely affected, many more were inconvenienced, and most that I’ve asked were completely unaffected.

But the screams against refusal to pass the CR became so strident, that, the day before the Treasury’s faux deadline (the real deadline was at least a week later) for the credit limit, the House caved, with Democrats and moderate RINOs passing the clean CR and debt ceiling bills. And the Tea Party Republicans agreed that Boehner had done enough, and let him keep his chair.

So an optimal outcome all around.

The TEA party is about the constitution and the symbolism is clear Israel wants the TEA party to crush liberalism.

Correction the tea party is about their version of the Constitution and they will hold their breath and stomp their feet till they get their way.
The ultimate results of the tea party’s tantrums will be the death if the conservative party.

Obama and the Dem’s are the ones throwing tantrums since Americans are blocking the path of destruction. I case you have not been paying attention long term Obama cheerleaders are turning against him. The truth always come out no matter how the Dems and liberals try to spin it

Their is only one Constitution and its the Dems and liberals that say it must be changed, it out dated ( it restricts them ), it forces them to do what’s right for the majority of the people. but keep believing the lies about the TEA party. Remember the truth is hard to hear when a liberal lie tells you what you want to hear.

If this means the Tea Party is sounding the alarm, I agree.

If you have international business contacts somehow I don’t think you would be here everyday, explain how we are " nihilistic anti-humanistic", while keeping it down to one insult, it should be good.

Just think: Once the government takes our money, it is no longer real money. It is then government money, and that is not real.

Because of that, debt doesn’t matter. it is not real either.

The so called “Tea Party” is just a Koch brothers/Fox news plaything. It may have started out as a grassroots movement but it was snatched away a long time ago. A bunch of people still don’t realize that, but that’s because they only watch Fox news.
    .
Everyone else should know better, and stop talking about the tea party as if it’s some kind of natural phenomenon.

Good comment. Unfortunately it seems like no one here notices or thinks about the meaning of such comments. National debt is the world currency now and how things are run.
    .
Every country in the world is in debt because that’s how bankers have set up the system.
We are not in debt because of a particular political party or a president, contrary to what many people here seem to think.
    .
Money is an imaginary, man made tool and debt is only as real as people, nations or corporations agree to it being. Money does have real consequences, though, especially for people without much of it.

TPRs are real. Just they they are also really hard line to the wall kind of purists. Any not pure in their sight are Liberals. That is how far off the scale they are. There is nothing like them in the Democratic Party. Nothing close to them in their extremism.

You certainly have things skewed. The only way you can make such ludicrous pronouncements with a straight face.

Most of us are not cheerleaders for Obama who is way too Conservative for my taste and it shows in what comes out of his administration. Protect the banks and the bankers, don’t help the consumer etc.
